Harvest Festival 2024 ends after very lively weekend

Harvest Festival has come and gone already, with thousands of visitors coming to Waterford to enjoy the festivities. 

Taste Waterford set up their Kitchen Stage in John Roberts Square and welcomed special guests throughout the day for a chat and a demo and tastings.

Food

Guests included Helen and Jenny O’Brien (Nì Bhrian Restaurant ), Cáitlín Uí Aodha (IASC Seafood Bistro), Liam McDonnell (Legacy Irish Cider) Kamila Bystrzonowska and Michael Buchta – (Momo Restaurant) , Luis Martin (Mara Restaurant) and The Happy Pear.

There were food stalls and trucks dotted throughout the city that had something for everyone's taste.

The East Waterford Beekeepers Association presented their Honeys of the World, which featured a selection of honeys from all over the globe and an observation hive onsite for visitors to watch and learn about honey-making. It proved very popular.

Music

At the Apple Market, the Waterford Academy of Music and Arts (WAMA) held several drama workshops for kids and this also proved extremely popular with visitors. 

Over on O'Connell's Street, there were market stalls and art and circus  workshops for little ones, and great live music outside Tully's Bar.

Musicians like Emma Langford, Fin Furey, Ron Buckley, The Blue Belles performed across the weekend. 

On Saturday night, the Hothouse Flowers played a gorgeous acoustic gig at Christchurch Cathedral, while just around the corner, the Papa Zitas brought the house down during their Churchyard Sessions set.
