Gardai open day is a great success in Waterford

Waterford Gardaí opened up their doors to the public at the start to this month and the event was a great success.
The open day took place in Waterford Garda Station which is the Divisional HQ and the event was held in conjunction with the force's emergency service partners.
In an online post on Waterford Gardaí's Facebook page a spokesperson noted: "This year we had a quiet hour to facilitate families who have children with sensory issues and it was a huge success."
The event was very well attended with children in particular expressing great interest in the goings on behind the scenes.
The Garda members enjoyed being able to meet with members of the public in a very relaxed and informal manner and the public responded in kind, availing of an opportunity to meet with the Gardaí and other emergency service personnel to get an insight into their day-to-day operations and activities.
