Funeral arrangements announced for esteemed photographer Leo Murphy

The late Leo Murphy
The funeral arrangements for the well-respected and much-loved local photographer Leo Murphy, who resided at Knockboy in Ballygunner, have been announced after the Cork Road native died whilst holidaying on Saturday, April 12.
Leo was known by many for his fantastic photos around communions and confirmations. He also captured many family portraits and had an eye for the perfect picture.
Described as a "devoted husband to Linda", Leo was also the "best dad" to David and Gina, and the "greatest brother" and "uncle" to the extended Murphy and Walsh families.
During his many years as one of Waterford's most recognised photographers, Leo, according to his family, "captured thousands of the happiest moments of people in Waterford, but he was definitely happiest when surrounded by his family, friends, and his framing."
His death notice added: "So, raise a glass, look at photos you may have in your homes and businesses, and remember Leo as the kind, caring gentleman."
Leo’s Requiem Mass will take place on Sunday, April 27, at St Mary’s Church, Ballygunner, Waterford, at 3pm, followed by private family cremation.
A minute's silence in memory of Leo was held at this afternoon's Waterford Metro council meeting.
