Former radio CEO appointed to major Waterford media role

Irial Mac Murchú (CEO, Nemeton), Gabrielle Cummins (new Head of Media Development), Niamh Nic Ghiolla Chuda (Operations Manager), and Barbara Creane (Financial Controller).

Waterford-based production company Nemeton has announced that Gabrielle Cummins has been appointed to a newly created management role at the company, Head of Media Development.

She previously helped establish Ireland’s first youth, regional music radio station Beat 102-103, firstly as the station’s Head of News and Sport and subsequently as the company’s CEO and Programme Director for the last 17 years.

Prior to that, Gabrielle worked as a journalist with WLR FM and as a local TV producer.

An independent production company founded in 1993 by Irial Mac Murchú, Nemeton is based in An Rinn and currently employs 75 fulltime and parttime staff and produces programming for audiences around the world. 

Its clients include TG4, RTÉ, BBC and Sky Sports.

Each year, the company produces over 600 hours of content for TV and web, best known for GAA Beo and other productions for TG4.

As the company’s inaugural Head of Media Development, Gabrielle will play a pivotal role in driving the continuous improvement in content across all the company’s digital channels.

In welcoming Gabrielle, Nemeton CEO, Irial Mac Murchú has described this new addition to his team as a new and exciting development.

"We've had ambitions for a long time to develop and commercialise our digital content internationally.

“Gabrielle's experience will enable us to do just that and we are delighted to have her on board."

Gabrielle will take up the new position at Nemeton in October 2025.
