Ferrybank Post Office launches ASD hour

Ferrybank Post Office has launched ASD hour, the first of its kind in Ireland.
Local mothers Jennifer and Melissa worked alongside the team at Ferrybank Post Office to create a more welcoming, accessible environment for families and children with ASD. Jennifer said of the initiative: "Melissa and I have sponsored a sensory wall, and we've purchased a variety of fidget tools to help keep children calm and engaged."
Local Councillor Joeanne Bailey and TD David Cullinane stopped by the post office to congratulate the team on their great initiative.
Steve Thwaites of Ferrybank Focus wrote: "It was an absolute honour to be invited to the launch of ASD hour at Ferrybank Post Office this morning.
The first of its kind in a post office in the country is a tribute to the tireless work of Jennifer and Melissa at United in Blue Waterford ASD Group and their collaboration with Linda and her team who always try to go one step further for everyone in our community.
"United in Blue Waterford ASD Group and Ferrybank Post Office are a beacon to all of us."
ASD hour takes place between 3pm and 4pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
