Expensive weekend in Waterford for learner drivers as gardaí seize cars and issue fines

Gardaí from the Waterford Roads Policing Unit seized two cars from learner drivers in separate incidents over the weekend.
In a post on social media, Waterford gardaí said that in the first instance, while on patrol, they observed a motorist run a red light.
They discovered the driver was an unaccompanied learner and seized the car.
Gardaí say the driver will receive a fine and penalty points.
In the second incident on Saturday morning, gardaí were conducting a checkpoint.
They seized a vehicle from another learner driver who was not only unaccompanied but had no L-plates.
Waterford gardaí say the driver had failed the test multiple times.
In addition to the seizure of the car, the driver will be issued a fine and penalty points.
Gardai said not to take any risks and be informed of your responsibilities.
