Emergency services called to assist walkers on Waterford/Tipperary border

South Eastern Mountain Rescue (SEMRA) were tasked last week to assist a pair of walkers at Baylough, The Vee on the Waterford/Tipperary border.

The walkers had become separated while walking forest trails and the second walker was hours overdue returning to the car park.

SEMRA received a call at 15:32 from An Garda Siochana to assist. Search and Rescue Dog Association Ireland was also tasked to assist in the search.

The SEMRA team Land Rover drove roads beside the forest trails in case the walker had come out onto the road.

As team members were heading off to start searching the trails, the walker was spotted making their way up to the car park, none the worse for the extended hike.

Stand down issued and everyone headed for home.
