Eight Waterford arts organisations awarded over half a million euro in funding
Waterford arts organisations include GOMA, Lismore Castle Arts and Little Red Kettle
The Arts Council of Ireland has awarded eight Waterford organisations €686,605 in funding.
The Deise-based recipients are as follows:
- GOMA : €138,240
- Lismore Castle Arts: €40,000
- Lismore Music Festival: €200,000
- Little Red Kettle: €90,000
- Symphony Club of Waterford: €10,865
- Tolka Journal: €63,000
- Waterford Music: €14,500
- Waterford Youth Arts: €130,000
The Waterford organisations were among 220 recipients across the country.
Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport, Patrick O’Donovan, congratulated the successful applicants.
“This significant investment in artists and arts audiences demonstrates the State’s continuing commitment to supporting and uplifting Ireland’s robust creative culture. It ensures the ongoing development of the arts in communities and localities across the country,” said Minister O’Donovan.
The funding will support organisations and individuals to carry out activities over a fixed period and projects for public engagement and is part of Arts Council’s ongoing work to cultivate a thriving and sustainable arts sector in Ireland.
The Arts Council has announced 220 recipients of its Arts Grant Funding scheme, representing an investment of €17.2 million in organisations and individuals across the country on behalf of the State.
Chair of the Arts Council, Maura McGrath, said that the funding extends their reach nationwide.
“As one of the Arts Council’s key funding schemes, Arts Grant Funding supports the activities of artists and organisations across the country. It contributes to a vibrant artistic ecosystem, ensuring artist development and supporting places for showing and creating art, while connecting communities, schools, arts centres and local authorities. We are proud to support this year’s recipients and look forward to the impact of their work,” said Ms McGrath.
