Eight new Gardaí assigned to Waterford in latest round of recruits
Eight new gardaí assigned to Waterford from the largest graduating class since before the COVID-19 pandemic
Eight newly trained Gardaí have been assigned to County Waterford following their recent graduation from Templemore Garda College.
The eight new officers were among 206 Gardaí who were formally attested as sworn members of An Garda Síochána during their graduation ceremony last Friday, July 24, as the largest single attestation class in the past six years, since before the COVID-19 pandemic.
While eight gardaí have been assigned to the county from this intake, Intake 254, six of them will be based in Waterford City with the other two assigned to the Dungarvan district, which includes one Garda serving the Lismore area.
The Waterford/Kilkenny Division of An Garda Síochána was allocated nine Gardaí in total, with the remaining member set to serve in Kilkenny.
These new recruits form part of a wider allocation spread across the Eastern region, which received 56 newly attested Gardaí following Friday's graduation ceremony.
Each of the 206 newly certified Gardaí in Intake 254 were recruited through the 2024 and 2025 Garda recruitment campaigns and first began their training at the Garda College in Templemore in November last year.
