Crematorium to be constructed in Waterford
Aidan Walsh & Sons Funeral Home, Tallow
A planning application has been approved for the construction of a crematorium at Aidan Walsh & Sons Funeral Home in Tallow.
The application also includes provision for the extension of the existing funeral home on Michael J Prendergast Road to provide a showroom on the northern side of the building with a chapel, and ancillary accommodation on the southern side.
The decision to approve the development was made by Waterford City and County Council this week.
A letter of support for the development was submitted by local councillor Donnchadh Mulcahy.
He said that the economic benefits the service would bring to Tallow and the wider area of West Waterford are significant.
“Developments like this have the potential to create jobs, support local businesses and boost the local economy” he added.
