A man appeared in court last week over an incident where he was carrying a knife in Ballybricken.

On December 10, 2025, gardaí were called to the area after receiving reports of a male carrying a knife. Gardai stopped a man named Przemyslaw Lezucha (46), with an address at 20 O'Brien Street, Waterford.

He was subsequently arrested, and has no previous convictions.

Lezucha's defence solicitor, Mr Kenneth Cunningham, said that the man is a Polish national who has been living in Ireland for the past 18 years. He added that alcohol was involved on the night of the incident.
