Waterford Council Executive have confirmed that they are 'aware' of the multiple tents present in the Poleberry area of the city.

At the October meeting of the Metro Council, Councillor Jason Murphy said: "There seems to be a number of tents with people living in them have appeared along St John's River on the Tesco Poleberry side of the river walk. Is that something that our homeless services are aware of? Have we engaged with the people in those tents to see what their position actually is?"

A member of the Executive confirmed that Council are engaging with people living in the tents.
