The coroner’s report is not yet available in the case of a man charged with the murder of Gillian Curran, Waterford District Court has heard.

Marcus O’Neill (34), of 15 O’Brien Street, Waterford City, appeared by video link at the sitting before Judge Kevin Staunton.

Sergeant John Phelan told the court that the Book of Evidence was not yet available as the gardaí were awaiting the report.

Acting for the defendant, solicitor Ken Cunningham said his client has been in custody since January 28.

He said the state needed to “get its affairs in order” but did acknowledge the update.

Judge Staunton further remanded the defendant in custody with consent for four weeks to July 15.
