The success of the four volumes of 'We Remember It Well' revealed just how much people value the connection between photographs and the past.

That initial release, with images compiled by well-known local photographer, and master of the News & Star archive Joe Evans, focused on nostalgia, and its unexpected popularity showed the importance of visual reminders in ensuring memories are kept alive.

The response highlighted the need to preserve and share these moments, sparking the journey that has led to the newest chapter.

Now, with Colourful Memories of Waterford, we invite you to experience those cherished moments in a whole new way.

Colour brings historic photographs to life in ways that black and white simply cannot. It adds vibrancy, depth, and warmth to scenes of the past, making them feel more immediate and personal.

This collection not only preserves history, but also enriches it, making the memories of Waterford even more vivid and accessible to all.

Nostalgia is powerful, evoking a deep sense of warmth and sentimentality. It allows us to relive the moments that shaped our lives. The success of the earlier books highlighted the extraordinary role photographs play in linking the past with the present.

Now, with the introduction of colour, this connection becomes even stronger, bridging the years in a way that feels as if no time has passed at all.

We are thrilled to present Colourful Memories of Waterford, a vibrant continuation of the series. This new collection offers a fresh opportunity to explore the rich history and experiences of Waterford through colourised photographs that spark joy, curiosity, and reflection.

The contributions of Waterford’s talented photographers, along with the carefully curated archives of Michael Flynn, add depth and diversity to this visual journey. Each photograph is a key to emotions and stories that transport us to another time.

As Colourful Memories of Waterford joins its predecessors, it will continue to find a special place in the hearts of readers, offering them a renewed connection to the past.

Volumes 1, 2, 3 and 4 of “We Remember it Well” remain available from the Book Centre, and we hope that as you explore this new edition, it takes you on a vivid, nostalgic journey—just as an old, cherished photo can.

Enjoy this colourful reflection of Waterford’s history and memories, now available from the Book Centre, Barronstrand Street, Waterford.
