Waterford will be home to a charity rally later this year, as the crew from Déjà Vu Motorsports will travel along a 150-mile route in a non-competitive ‘moving museum’ of classic rally cars.
The vintage and valuable rally cars will ‘race’ along the classic Waterford Circuit of Ireland Rally stages that were used when the event was held in the Déise in the 1980s.

The organisers, Deja Vu Motorsports are self-described “old rallyheads” who run charity events attended by figures across the rally scene, raising €375,000 for local charities so far. All proceeds from the rally in Waterford will go towards two local charities, the Dungarvan Palliative Care Unit and the Craig Breen Foundation.
The DPCU helps to support those with life-limiting or life-threatening illnesses as well as their families, while the Craig Breen Foundation helps young Irish rally drivers in their formative years, in the name of the local Waterford rallying star who died in a motorsports accident prior to the Croatian Rally in 2023.

The event is taking place over one weekend, from October 10 to 12. The main event will be on Saturday, October 11, when the 150-mile course will loop around the beautiful Déise countryside, through Waterford City and back to Dungarvan for the charity auction and gala dinner. Along the route, the competitors will stop at Mount Congreve during which the vintage cars will be available for viewing to the public.

“We are delighted to be giving some useful support to these locally based charities through the funds that we gather from our entrants, a charity auction, and the collections from the public over the Déjà vu weekend,” the organisers said at the launch of the event in Mount Congreve.
