64-year-old dropped trousers and urinated in garda station

An intoxicated man who entered Waterford Garda Station become abusive to gardaí and urinated on the floor, Waterford District Court has heard.
John Dunphy (64), with an address in Larchville, Waterford city, committed the offence in April.
Dunphy entered a taxi on the night. He spilled alcohol and appeared intoxicated, prompting the taxi driver to drop him off at a garda station. Dunphy entered the station and “asked gardaí to become his taxi”, the court heard.
The man became abusive to gardaí, dropped his trousers and urinated on the floor. The subsequent cleanup costs amounted to €200.
He was sentenced to 40 hours of community service in lieu of a three-month prison sentence.
