'There was no BMW outside and no Rolex in the bedside locker'

On February 11 at 8.30pm, gardaí executed a search warrant at the address of a man named Cillian Murphy (19), at 44 Blackberry Fields, Waterford.

Whilst in the residence, gardaí found €1,332 of cannabis, scales and baggies.

Defence counsel, Kenneth Cunningham, said during last week's court hearing that no trappings of wealth were found in his client's residence during the gardaí's search.

“There was no BMW outside and no Rolex in the bedside locker,” Mr. Cunningham said.

Judge John Cheatle ordered the procurement of a probation report. If this report is favourable, and if the man comes to no further adverse garda attention between now and February 2027, community service will be considered in lieu of a prison sentence.
