The suspected cocaine was seized by Revenue Officers following the search of a lorry which had disembarked from a ferry.

A man in his 50’s was arrested and is currently detained under Organised Crime Legislation in the South East of the country.

Gardaí said investigations are ongoing.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, which was then preserved for an examination.

The captain of the ferry made an emergency call reporting that an “incident” had taken place on the ferry which left Fishguard port at 2pm and arrived in Rosslare around 5pm.

The two men in their 30s were discovered by the ship’s crew during the voyage and gardaí were alerted before the ship arrived to Rosslare Europort.
