Fitness: Don’t make this mistake!

Making sure your training sessions are completed by the end of the week should be your main priority. Stock image
This is something I’ve been working on with many clients over the past week or so - and even something I’ve been reflecting on myself with my own training.
At the moment I am on my first ever prep where I hope to compete in my first ever bodybuilding show.
As a result I am in a relatively aggressive dieting phase and have been for just over 14 weeks now.
Like many of my clients in fat loss phases, I am now starting to feel energy levels dip and motivation begin to peak and trough.
This is where reality kicks in.
You will naturally not always feel like training. This is normal.
A rational feeling when things get hard or when life feels like it’s getting in the way.
However, it is our awareness of our situation and understanding of the process that will help us to act more proactively here.
This should not stop the training however.
Training does not require you to be over the moon thinking about it for you to benefit from it.
If your goal is important, making sure your training sessions are completed by the end of the week should be your main priority.
Set this up as a non-negotiable and you will start to see your path towards your goals become so much more productive and direct.
Milestones will begin to stack up quicker than they have in the past.
Something I am preaching to clients more and more, something I have seen both in myself and in past clients - training on the days you don’t feel like it are the days that count.
It is days like this that stack up over time and are what is going to contribute to and yield high quality and often life changing results.
Take time to check your priorities when you next feel like skipping that session.
Another often overlooked element when it comes to your training.
If you were to wake up in a hospital bed tomorrow morning, just to be told you can never train again.
Tell me you aren’t a little disheartened? Tell me you aren’t now reflecting on those sessions where you skipped due to just not feeling like it.
Training is a luxury and if you were to ask someone who is not in a position to train right now I’m sure they’d back me up here.
