The final week of our Predict Your Time League took place last Monday night and well done to Louise, who was the overall winner and the lucky dip winner. A huge thank you once again to all our sponsors, your support is greatly appreciated. Thank you also to everyone who attended each week. We had a fantastic turnout throughout the league, which was wonderful to see. Last but certainly not least, our sincere thanks to our trusty duo, Grainne and Regina, who worked tirelessly every week behind the scenes, putting up signs, taking times and helping to ensure everything ran smoothly. Thanks also to anyone who helped in any way to make our league such a success. That’s a wrap for 2025, we’re already looking forward to seeing you all again in 2026.
We, the Community Centre Committee, would like to offer our deepest sympathies to Breege, Anthony, Kate, Paul, Fiona, Ronan and the extended Gleeson family on the sad passing of Tom. Tom gave many years of dedication to both the lotto and Community Centre. He was a great community man and he will be sadly missed by us all. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis
There will be a ‘Jigs & Wheels’ Tractor Run held in Modeligo on December 20, at 12 noon in aid of Sham Ryan. While hard at work, Sham was stung by a wasp, an incident that quickly turned life-threatening when he went into anaphylaxis shock and suffered a cardiac arrest. Thanks to the incredible efforts of first responders, he was airlifted to CUH, where the amazing nursing staff and medical team fought tirelessly to save his life. Their care has given him a second chance. But Sham’s journey is far from over. He is now waiting for a bed in the National Rehabilitation Centre in Dún Laoghaire, where he will begin what is expected to be a long and challenging road to recovery. The rehabilitation process will be intensive and the associated costs such as travel, time away from work, ongoing therapies and unforeseen expenses, will place a heavy financial strain. We are asking for your support to help ease the financial burden during this incredibly difficult time. Alongside our Tractor Run in December, we have also opened a GoFundMe page. Any donation, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and allow Sham to focus on what matters most: healing, strength, and hope for the future. Thank you for your kindness, your generosity and for standing with Sham on his long road ahead.
