Sliabh gCua Lotto

The most reent jackpot numbers were 5,7,26. No winner. The 5 x €20 winners were Nellie Power, Geraldine Ryan, Claire Dalton, Christine Cliffe and Eithne O’Shea. The promoter’s prize was won by Thomas Keane. The jackpot next week is €800.

Sympathy

We extend our sympathy to the McCann family on the recent passing of Brendan McCann (Mathematician), Ballymacarbry, Co. Waterford, formerly Waterford City and Co. Galway. Brendan was predeceased by his parents John and Nell (née: Condon). We extend our sincere sympathy to his wife Monica (née: McCarthy), children, Thérèse, Cormac and stepson Patrick, sister Mary, brother John and their families, colleagues at SETU and extended relatives and many friends. May Brendan rest in peace.

Touraneena Runner’s Club

This week sees the 6th and final week of our Predict Your Time league which is being kindly sponsored by John Skehan Services Ltd and IFAC Accountants. Results will be posted in next week’s notes. There was a tremendous response to the Sanofi 5 mile and 5 km road race which took place on Sunday, November 9th, held for MS. 

Sliabh gCua Set Dancing Club

The Scór na nÓg County Final 2025 was held recently in the beautiful setting of Ardmore Hall. There was a very high standard of competition in all disciplines. Congratulations to all competitors on a great showcasing of talent. The winners in each competition go through to the Munster Semi-Final which will be held in Pallasgreen, Co, Limerick, at 2pm on Saturday, November 15th. Well done to all our dancers who competed. Sliabh gCua had 2 figures, two sets and a music group represented on the night.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Sliabh gCua Rince Foirne Team A who were crowned County Champions and have qualified for the Munster Scór na nÓg Semifinal. Siabh gCua A also placed in 2nd in the Rince Seit competition. Sliabh gCua B placed in 3rd place in the Rince Foirne and Rince Seit. Sliabh gCua placed in 2nd place in the Ceol Urlise competition. The group consisted of Lucy, Kayleigh, Ciarán and Noah. It was fantastic to see the improvements made by our dancers since we started back in September. Thanks to all the parents for their continued support A minute's silence was held for the late Anthony Walsh who gave many years as Irish Cultural Officer with Scór Phortláirge and Waterford GAA. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

St. Mary’s National School

The Parent’s council will be holding their annual table quiz in the Sliabh gCua Community Centre on Friday, November 14th, at 7.30pm. All pupils in 4th, 5th and 6th class are welcome to come along. There will be a raffle and lots of prizes on the night. If you would like more information, please contact 087 6214315.

Raffle Tickets

Raffle tickets for the Knockboy Graveyard annual fundraising hamper raffle are now on sale at Ballinamult Post office and will be on sale shortly at Doocey’s Shop, Ballymacarbry. Tickets cost €2 a strip or 3 strips for €5. Please support to keep our graveyard maintained and looking well.

Parent And Toddler Group

The Touraneena Parent and Toddler Group resumed on Wednesday, November 5th, at 12 noon in the Sliabh gCua Community Centre. All are welcome to come along and have a cuppa, biscuits and a chat while the children interact and play. If you would like more information please contact Regina Carroll on 087 2800724.
