Tramore Promenade in Co Waterford

Tramore Shines Again

Great news for Tramore and Waterford’s coastline as we look ahead to the 2026 tourism season.

Tramore has once again retained its Blue Flag status, reinforcing its reputation as one of Ireland’s top seaside destinations.

Across the county, Waterford secured three Blue Flags in total, with Bunmahon Beach earning its first since 2013, alongside both Tramore and Clonea continuing to meet the highest standards.

There was also a significant boost in Green Coast Awards for Waterford, increasing from six to ten beaches recognised for their natural beauty, excellent water quality, and strong community stewardship.

These prestigious accolades, awarded by An Taisce, highlight the strength of Waterford’s coastal offering, with Tramore at its heart, and further cement the area as a must-visit destination to enjoy, explore and stay.

Exam Time

The commencement of the Leaving Certificate and Junior Cycle examinations marks an important milestone for students in Tramore.

Both exam cycles begin on Wednesday, June 3, with the Leaving Certificate running until Tuesday, June 23, and the Junior Cycle concluding earlier on Monday, June 15.

This period reflects months of preparation, dedication and effort.

For Leaving Certificate students, the exams are particularly significant, with results playing a key role in determining access to further education, training and career pathways.

The Junior Cycle, while less high-stakes, provides a valuable foundation for future learning and helps students build confidence and exam experience. Schools, families and communities provide vital support during these weeks, helping students manage pressure and stay focused.

While the exams can be demanding, they also present an opportunity to demonstrate knowledge, build resilience and achieve personal goals.

As students sit their exams over the coming weeks, they are encouraged to do their best and remember that these exams are just one step in a much broader journey, with many opportunities ahead regardless of the results.

Ard Scoil na Mara class exams begin on Tuesday, May 26, with the school summer holidays starting on Friday, May 29 at 12pm.
