We extend our sympathy to the Meaney and Crotty families on the recent passing of Anne Meaney (née: Crotty), St Finnian’s Avenue, Ardfinnan and formerly of Carrigroe, Ballinamult. Anne was very well known and liked in the community, when for many years with her late husband Tom and their family, spent many happy years residing in Ballinamult. We extend our sincere sympathy to her family David, Michelle, Kate and Margaret, sons-in-law Trevor and Raj, daughter-in-law Marion, grandchildren Jack, Emma, Luke and Zaid, sisters, nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. Requiem mass for Anne was in St. Peter & Paul’s Church, Clonmel followed by burial afterwards in St Patrick’s Cemetery. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a hanam dílis.

The Waterford Volunteer Centre is a non-profit organisation that promotes and supports volunteering across County Waterford. They are currently looking for spare yarn that you may have (leftovers, odd balls, or ones you have been meaning to use for ages). They have just finished their very first two crochet blankets which will soon be on their way to Waterford Hospice to bring a bit of warmth and comfort, so if you would like to assist them in any way by donating yarn or getting involved, please contact anna@volunteerwaterford.ie or 083 1586061. Every little bit truly helps.
Last week’s riddle was:- If a father frog goes ‘Ribbit, ribbit’ and a mother frog goes ‘erbit, erbit’, how does a baby frog croak? Answer: It doesn’t. A baby frog is a tadpole. This week’s riddle is: A husband was called by the Gardaí telling him that his wife was killed and that he should get to the crime scene as soon as possible. Shocked, the husband dropped the phone and drove to the crime scene in 20 minutes, where he was arrested and charged for murder. How did the Gardaí know it was him?
