Local Notes: Lotto news, Déise draw and successful rally but signage concerns

There are a lot of events happening in the Tournaneena area
The people in the parish of Touraneena and the surrounding communities were deeply saddened to hear of the sudden passing of William (Billy) Coffey, Knockmeal, Ballinamult.
Not only was Billy a very well-known, respected and liked individual who will be missed by many. The Sliabh gCua Trio were fabulous musicians who played a big part in the many Sliabh gCua Set Club triumphs throughout the decades at various competitions such as Scór, Slógadh and Fléadh Cheoil. Requiem Mass in St Mary’s Church was followed by burial in St Declan’s Cemetery, Cappoquin. May Tom rest in peace.

The recent STS Group Tipperary Stonethrowers Rally was a very successful event and congratulations to winners Josh Moffett and Keith Moriarty, however, there was a severe lack of signage on the Newcastle and Ardfinnan side for public road users.
Motorists were unaware that there was a rally in progress until they travelled outside of Newcastle and were then faced with a parked car pulled across the road preventing people from accessing the road – which was correct, however, at that stage there was no way for motorists to turn around and go back down the road so they had to reverse a substantial length of time down a narrow country road that had cars parked on either side. It was noted that there was a sign on this road but unfortunately it was very near where the general public cars had to reverse back from and also this sign was unfortunately covered by a parked car. Signage that was visible and a little more of it a little further back would have been very beneficial for other road users.

Answer: Stairs.
This week’s riddle is: A king, a queen and two twins, lay in a large room. Yet there are no people in that room. How is that possible?
