Taking advantage of the good weather, Wellkids training on Sunday morning moved to The Park, allowing all the children to enjoy time together in the playground after their session. The children trained brilliantly and were rewarded with ice‑creams to finish. A big thank‑you to Kieran Laffan and all involved in Portlaw Tidy Towns for their continued hard work in keeping the Park in such excellent condition. Wellkids is for boys and girls aged 3–6 years and takes place every Sunday morning at 10am. All are very welcome.

Portlaw United FC

U15 Premier Division DLS 0 Portlaw 3. Team sponsor: Jimmy’s Takeaway, Portlaw (051 566918). The final league game of the campaign ended in an away victory over DLS with goals from Darragh Long, Daniel O’Brien and Mark Murphy. Portlaw currently sit two points clear at the top of the table, but will need a favourable result elsewhere to secure the league title. The lads have put in a tremendous effort all season and now look forward to competing for the cup. Premier League Result:  Portlaw 2–1 Tramore. Match sponsor: Cllr Declan Clune. A great result for the premier team with Tramore visiting the Paddock. First‑half defences were on top with limited chances at either end. Early in the second half, Portlaw took the lead when a through‑ball from Kealo set John Power away, who gave the keeper no chance.

Tramore equalised shortly afterwards from a penalty. Both sides pushed on for a winner and Portlaw were rewarded in injury time when strong pressure from Sam Croke forced an own goal from a Tramore defender. A fantastic work‑rate and performance from the lads. The team thanked Cllr Declan Clune for his kind match‑day sponsorship. Premier League Result Portlaw 2–2 Hibernians. Team sponsor: The Clodagh Bar. Match‑day sponsor: Conor Dooley (087 9758498) Plumbing, Heating and Boiler Services | Bathroom Renovations. Following the midweek win over Tramore, Portlaw had a quick turnaround with Hibs visiting the Paddock last Sunday morning. Hibs dominated possession in the first half, but Portlaw’s defensive structure limited clear chances. Hibs took the lead early in the second half, after which Portlaw grew into the game. A brilliant run from John Power led to a cross for Samuel Deevy, whose first touch beat three defenders before smashing home the equaliser. Shortly afterwards, Deevy again broke forward and crossed to Louis Power, making his Premier League debut, who scored with his first touch to put Portlaw 2–1 ahead. Hibs threw everything at Portlaw and grabbed an equaliser in injury time. Two huge performances from the lads within a few days. Next up, Portlaw travel to Bohs on Friday, May 8. The club thanks Conor Dooley for his generous match‑day sponsorship and encourages supporters to continue supporting local businesses.
