Davy Fitzgerald stepped down as Waterford hurling Manager last week after a two-year term. This year he had seen a poor National League performance with Waterford relegated and playing in Division next year, and in the Munster Championships there was a big improvement, missing out narrowly to get to the knockout stages. This probably influenced the decision he took. It's worth pointing out that since County Managers were introduced in 1980 only two from outside counties have won with other counties. Hopefully clubs in the county will propose a Waterford Manager this time. Last time a Waterford manager was in charge was Derek McGrath in 2017 and they were beaten in the All Ireland final by Galway by three points.

Fionn Lynch and Max Sweetman are representing Ireland and Waterford Harbour Sailing Club and Wexford Harbour Boat Club at this event.
