Touraneena Runner’s Club

A big congratulations to all the club members who proudly represented us recently at the Nenagh 10K and Nenagh Half Marathon. It was a fantastic day of running and well done to each and every one of you. Now it’s time to look ahead to the next big initiative, the ever-popular Couch to 5K programme. The club is delighted to announce that this year’s programme begins on Monday, March 2nd, at 7pm. Sessions will take place: Monday evenings at 7pm; Wednesday evenings at 7pm; Sunday mornings at 10am. Pre-registration is now open. You can sign up by contacting the Touraneena Runner’s Facebook page, texting any member of the committee or simply turning up on the night.

The cost is just €2 per person, per session, making it an affordable and accessible way to get active, improve your fitness and catch up with neighbours and friends.

This programme is designed for all abilities, whether you’re a complete beginner, returning after a break, building confidence, or even mixing walking and jogging. If you can’t attend every session, that’s absolutely fine, come along on the dates that suit you.

Training will be a mix of track and road sessions, gradually building fitness and confidence in a supportive group environment.

Along the way, there will be plenty of fun runs and opportunities to set personal goals, from completing your first 5K to progressing to 10Ks, half marathons, and maybe even a marathon in the future. Last year’s Couch to 5K was a tremendous success with brilliant camaraderie and great progress from participants.

We would love to see an even bigger turnout this year and continue building on that momentum. So don’t be shy, lace up the runners, bring a friend, and enjoy the fresh air and good company. There’s no better time to start than now. Spread the word, the more, the merrier.

Abseil For Solas

Solas is a cause that is very close to all of everyone's heart. The vital services and unwavering support they provide make a real and lasting difference to so many individuals and families. For that reason, Aisling O’Brien, (Ballymacarbry LGFA) has decided to give back by taking on this exciting and brave challenge and we would love the community to get behind her. By stepping out of her comfort zone and participating in this abseil, Aisling is raising essential funds to support the continued work of Solas. All donations will go directly to Solas and every single contribution, no matter how big or small, will be deeply appreciated. If you would like to support Aisling’s fundraiser, you can donate online at iDonate by searching for “Aisling (Ballymacarbry LGFA) Abseil for Solas.” Let’s rally behind Aisling and show our support for a truly worthy cause.

Sliabh gCua Lotto

The promoter’s prize was won by Kay Ware. Next week’s jackpot rolls over to the handsome sum of €1,000. Make sure you’re in with a chance.
