Niamh O’Connor sadly passed away on March 4 2023 after a very brave fight with cancer. Niamh was well known and loved in Waterford City and surrounds, and is sadly missed by her family, friends and nursing colleagues.
A fundraising night has been organised as a celebration of Niamh's life and as she was known to be such a lover of music, some of Waterford’s finest musicians and bands will be attending, such as The Strobes, The Raindogs, Divorce Party, Danny Pullman & Phil Collins Jazz Ensemble and Paul Butler.
All proceeds will go to the Waterford Hospice Foundation and Oak Ward, Waterford University Hospital who showed immense care and kindness to both Niamh and family in her final weeks on the Oak Ward.

Beloved singer-songwriter and national treasure Gemma Hayes announces her 2024 tour dates across Ireland as well as her single ‘Feed the Flames’.
‘Feed the Flames’ follows Gemma’s single ‘High & Low’, her first new music in nearly a decade. Music tastemaker Tony Clayton-Lea declared ‘High & Low’ an “emotional gut-punch of a song,” and it has racked up over 1 million radio impacts in Ireland alone since release.
Over the last year, Gemma has been busy touring, bringing her live show to crowds that span generations. Gemma spent Autumn playing to audiences solo as well as with fellow legends Lisa Hannigan and Paul Noonan. She recently sold-out London’s Omeara and Dublin’s Whelan’s as part of a UK and Ireland tour. Gemma has been a cornerstone of the John Prine Celebration Shows at Dublin’s Vicar Street, and she performed the legendary artist’s song ‘Summer’s End’ on RTÉ’s The Tommy Tiernan Show.
