What's on: Poetry, punk music and broadway hits, Waterford has got it all
An exciting line-up of events in Waterford over the coming weeks.
Stephen James Smith will bring his trademark blend of poetry and performance to a very special and intimate gig at the Coastguard Cultural Centre, Tramore, on Saturday, July 25.
Speak Up Waterford will host an open mic of music and poetry alongside Stephen’s headline performance on the night, from 7:30–9pm, with local singer and songwriter Conor Doyle supplying the tunes for the evening.
Stephen’s short poetry films have captivated millions, earning him the opportunity to perform alongside notable names like Eddie Vedder (Pearl Jam), Patti Smith, Bono, Imelda May, and Glen Hansard.
Tickets for the event are available on Eventbrite for €11, plus a booking fee, and the Coastguard Cultural Centre is urging anyone interested to buy their tickets soon, saying: “Tickets are flying out for our highlight gig of this month – Stephen James Smith.”
German oi! punk band Collaps will play at Luca Records & Decks in Waterford City this August Bank Holiday weekend.
Hailed as one of the heaviest skinhead punk bands around, Collaps will meet Waterford locals Sympos in an exciting concert.
Luca Records said: “July 29 we welcome boot bashing skinhead rock n’ rollers ‘Collaps’ from Germany alongside the hometown heroes ‘Sympos’ live at Luca Records & Decks in Waterford City.”
