Astronomy Talk, May 27, SETU Arena 

Christopher Kenny will be delivering a presentation on SUAS Aerospace plans for a sub-orbital launch site from Western Ireland.

Christopher is an Aerospace Project Manager at SUAS Aerospace, working in the space sector in Ireland, Switzerland and the US.

SUAS Aerospace is a private upstream space service provider based in Ireland.

The company aims to operate two spaceports in Ireland, providing comprehensive facilities for orbital launches, suborbital flights, and rocket engine testing.

The engaging talk will be delivered on Wednesday, May 27, at 8pm in SETU Arena, presented by South East Astronomy.

SEA Art Group Summer Exhibition, May 29 to June 1, Church Road Hall Tramore 

Opening with a launch evening on Friday at 7pm, the exhibition will continue daily across the Bank Holiday weekend, welcoming visitors to enjoy a vibrant collection of original artwork created by local artists.

The SEA Art Group has gone from strength to strength over the past year, with growing membership bringing fresh energy and new talent into the group. This year’s exhibition promises a diverse and engaging showcase, featuring paintings in oils, acrylics, watercolours and mixed media.

Much of the work on display draws inspiration from the natural beauty of Tramore and the Copper Coast, capturing the ever-changing light, landscape and atmosphere of the area. The exhibition reflects both the individuality of each artist and the strong sense of community that defines the group.

Meeting weekly in Tramore, the SEA Art Group provides a welcoming and supportive environment for artists of all levels to develop their skills, share ideas, and exhibit their work. 

Admission is free, and all are welcome.

Life and Songs of Van Morrison, Coastguard Cultural Centre, June 19 

Performed by Derek Flynn and Lauren Cardiff, this show combines live music, storytelling, and rich musical history, to celebrate the life and extraordinary catalogue of one of Ireland’s greatest musical legends.

Audiences can look forward to performances of many of Morrison’s best-loved classics, including 'Brown Eyed Girl', 'Moondance', 'Into the Mystic', 'Days Like This', 'Crazy Love', 'Have I Told You Lately', 'Gloria', and 'Bright Side of the Road'. 

Whether you are a lifelong admirer or simply love great songwriting, The Life and Songs of Van Morrison promises to be a memorable night celebrating one of Ireland’s most iconic and enduring musical voices
