Murder trial to take place in Waterford with public playing a pivotal role

A very special event will be staged in SETU Area in Waterford on May 23.
Tigerslane Studios have announced the launch of the third season of 'Murder Trial Tonight - 'The Doorstep Case', and it promises to be a great night of theatre.
The theatre company is renowned for its captivating productions and what makes them compelling viewing is the fact they are based on true-crime events.
With a dedicated team of storytellers, technicians and performers, Tigerslane Studios continues to break down the fourth wall and bring true-crime stories to life in an unparalleled way. The show begins on screen, giving the audience the backdrop and opening to the true-crime story. Then, the action moves to the stage for a live murder trial, immersing the audience in a fast-paced courtroom experience. As members of the jury, the audience plays a crucial role in this thrilling murder mystery. Both the prosecution and defence present their cases, cross-examine witnesses, and at the end of the show, the audience deliberates and delivers their verdict: Guilty or Not Guilty!
At the end of the trial, footage of the murder is revealed. Each season is based on a true story, with a disclaimer that names, events, and dates have been altered for dramatisation purposes. The upcoming tour will run from February to June 2025, with performances all across the United Kingdom and Ireland.
“This isn’t just a theatre play; it’s a social experiment,” said the show's West End Director, Graham Watts.
“We aim to challenge perceptions and engage our audience in a way that goes beyond traditional theatre.”
The show has played to 85,000 audience members across 142 shows, in 65 venues across five countries. Eighty-two per cent of Season 2 verdicts were closer than a 40/60 split in terms of guilty/not guilty, highlighting the show’s ability to provoke thought and debate about the justice system.
