Award-winning Arborist will perform at Waterford's Phil Grimes Pub

Award-winning Belfast songwriter Mark McCambridge and his band Arborist will return to Waterford next month as part of a European tour to launch their new album, Looking For Love. 

The critically acclaimed group will perform at Phil Grimes Pub for Subterranean Sounds on November 6, bringing their latest material to local audiences following the success of their previous release, which won the Northern Ireland Music Prize for Best Album.  

The band's new album, Looking For Love, has already attracted significant attention from music critics, with Uncut magazine awarding it an 8/10 review. 

The four-piece line-up features several highly regarded musicians. Among them is Eamon Ferris, best known as the drummer with The Waterboys, while Ben Flavelle, who has performed with Van Morrison, provides bass. Richard Hill completes the line-up on keyboards and clarinet. 

Together, the group combines folk, rock and alternative influences, creating a distinctive sound. Promoters describe Looking For Love as an album that blends strong melodies with reflective songwriting, drawing comparisons with artists such as John Lennon, John Cale and the American alternative rock band Wilco. Set against the backdrop of Belfast, the record explores themes of love, place and identity while retaining the band's signature sound.

Arborist's previous work helped establish the band as one of Northern Ireland's most respected contemporary acts, earning critical recognition and a growing audience both at home and abroad. 

The Waterford date forms part of a wider European tour and offers local music fans an opportunity to experience the new material in an intimate live setting.

Audiences can also expect to hear songs from Arborist's acclaimed back catalogue, alongside tracks from Looking For Love. 

The concert takes place at Phil Grimes Pub on November 6.
