Teen dies after being struck by car in Cork

A teenager has died after being struck by a car at Little Island, Co Cork, on Friday night.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident, which occurred at approximately 11:50pm on Friday.

The male teen was taken from the scene to Cork University Hospital and has since been declared deceased.

Forensic Collision investigators attended the scene of the incident, and an examination took place.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.

Road users who may have camera footage, including dash-cam footage and were travelling in the area between 11:00pm and midnight on Friday 17th April 2026, are asked to make this available to investigating gardaí.
