The driver of the van, a man in his 50s, was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Garda Forensic Collision Investigators are currently carrying out a technical examination of the scene and the road remains closed.

Those caught exceeding the speed limit will be issued a Fixed Charge Notice fine of €160 along with three penalty points.
