Status orange and status yellow rain and wind warnings have been issued by Met Éireann for Friday and Saturday.

Dublin, Wexford, and Wicklow will be under a status orange rain warning from 2pm on Friday until 11am on Saturday.

Met Éireann has warned of significant rainfall accumulations, especially on high ground and exposed areas.

Significant flooding is possible, and hazardous travelling conditions are likely, the forecaster said.

A status yellow rain warning has been issued for Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford. It will come into effect at 9am on Friday and will remain in place until the same time on Saturday morning.

Counties Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Louth, Meath, Wexford, Wicklow will be under a status yellow rain warning from 11am on Friday until 11am on Saturday.

Counties under a status yellow rain warning can expect heavy and persistent rain falling on saturated ground. Possible impacts include flooding, difficult travelling conditions, and poor visibility.

There will be a status yellow wind warning in place for Dublin, Louth, Wexford, Wicklow from 12pm on Friday until 4am on Saturday.

There will be strong and gusty northeasterly winds, and difficult travelling conditions and wind related debris is expected.
