Stephen Molumphy is set to be appointed as the new Waterford senior hurling manager in the coming days, the Waterford News & Star understands.
As first reported last week, Molumphy has been in pole position to become Peter Queally’s successor, since recently returning from an overseas assignment with the Defence Forces.
Interviews were conducted over the weekend by a five-person selection committee, headed by county board chairman Neil Moore that included former Déise captains Ken McGrath and Eoin Murphy. Following on from those discussions, it’s understood that the appointment of the Ballyduff Upper clubman will be proposed in the days ahead.
