Gailltír will take on great rivals De La Salle in the senior camogie semi-finals on October 12.
These two Eastern powerhouses have clashed in the last three county finals with Salle emerging victorious in 2022 and 2023. There has only been a puck of a ball between them on all three occasions.
Gailltir battered Tramore 9-21 to 1-1 on home turf in Saturday's quarter-final. Déise dual star Annie Fitzgerald netted a hat trick for the blue and navy while first cousin Emma got two. Molly Comerford, Aoife Fitzgerald, Alannah O’Sullivan and Emer Walshe also rattled the cobwebs.
The game was done and dusted at half time as last year's runners-up led 3-12 to 0-0. Tramore could only call on a panel of seventeen players. All Star defender Vikki Falconer didn't line out for the seasiders as she is abroad at present. Back to back champions De La Salle got a bye to the semi-finals.
Brickey Rangers defeated Butlerstown 4-14 to 0-5 at Bushy Park to set up a last four clash with St Anne’s. Aine O’Neill, Siobhan Lennon, Eimear O’Neill and Kelly Treacy all raised green flags for Dermot Dwyer’s charges.
Brickeys won the junior championship in 2020 and captured intermediate honours two years later. The black and amber are an up and coming team with back to back minor All Star Katelyn Gardner between the posts and promising attacker Eimear O'Neill at the other end of the field. Déise footballers Kate McGrath, Hannah Power and Aine O’Neill are also on board.
St Anne's, skippered by All Star attacker Niamh Rockett, got the better of Cappoquin a week earlier (5-12 to 1-8). The green and red can also call on Waterford regulars Róisín Kirwan and Bevin Bowdren. Their last appearance in the decider was back in 2020. Both senior semi-finals will take place on Saturday, October 12 at the SETU Arena.
Cappoquin will stage the intermediate and junior showdowns on October 13. Lismore and Modeligo will contest the intermediate final. In the semis, Lismore defeated Dungarvan 3-11 to 0-8 while Modeligo overcame Clonea 1-11 to 0-11.
The junior final will see An Rinn and Abbeyside do battle. Abbeyside have lost three of the previous four deciders. An Rinn won the intermediate championship in 2021 but are back down in the junior grade due to lack of numbers.
