Man dies after getting into difficulty in Cork river
A man has died after getting into difficulty in the River Bandon at Dunmanway in Cork on Wednesday evening.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to the incident and a man in his 50s was taken from the water.
He was pronounced dead and his body's been taken to Cork University Hospital, where a post-mortem exam will be arranged.
Gardaí say the coroner and the Health and Safety Authority have been notified.
