Tramore went crashing out of the Munster Youth Cup after they lost out to Fairview Rangers by a goal to nil at Ben Wadding Park on Sunday afternoon last.
Tramore never really got to grips with this game as a whole; they had some good individual performances but as a team they never really gelled in this quarter-final tie, and at the final whistle the Limerick visitors just about deserved their semi-final spot.
Tramore suffered badly from the stop-start nature of the game that developed as Rangers stopped the game at every opportunity and time-wasting was the name of the game after they went in front.
Tramore started the game in control and looked comfortable at the back with Ryan Walsh and Jake Dillon outstanding, and winning the battle in midfield through Ben Clune. Upfront, Paddy Barrett kept the Rangers defence busy. However, the Tramore strikers never really tested the Rangers keeper Dion Begley.
On 10 minutes Charlie Smyth played the ball over the top for Paddy Barrett to chase, but Rangers defender Jack Duggan got across to make a goal-saving tackle.
At the other end, Tramore's Ryan Walsh was well placed on the goal line to deny Oscar O’Donaghue. On the half-hour mark, a Ben Clune free found its way to the unmarked Ryan Walsh, but his volley rippled the side netting.

Tramore had the first chance of the second half when Ben Clune crossed for Adam Chapman who controlled the ball inside the box, but shot just wide. They had another great chance soon after as Charlie Smyth took on the Rangers defence and got his shot on target; Rangers keeper Dion Begley parried the shot into the path of Adam Freyne but Begley recovered to save.
Fairview Rangers took the lead on 63 minutes with this strike proving to be the winner. Cian Walsh fired a long throw into the near post, Zak McInerney flicked the ball on and Cian Molloy arrived on cue to send a heifer past Mullally.
After this the game descended into chaos with nine bookings a red card to the Tramore bench. Time after time the game was stopped as one by one the Rangers players hit the ground.
Tramore were left frustrated at the final whistle as they never got their attack going and it was Fairview Rangers who progressed to the semi-final.
