On Friday 29th November the people of Waterford go to the polls to elect four TD’s and a new Government. I am standing alongside Conor McGuinness to win two seats for Sinn Féin and play our part in bringing about a change in Government.
For over 100 years Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael have swapped power between them. After the last election they went into Government together simply to keep Sinn Féin out and stop change.
The truth is they cannot stop change forever. These parties have created and sustained the housing crisis. Many young people are locked out of home ownership with rents and house prices rising by the month. Adults in their 30’s, 40’s and 50’s are still living with their parents.
Sinn Féin has the plan ‘A Home of your own’ to build the social and affordable homes needed and deliver for renters. We can and we will fix the housing crisis.
In 2004 the media first reported on the trolley crisis. It has gone from a winter to an all year round scandal. 900,000 people are on health waiting lists. And we are still waiting for 24/7 cardiac care in Waterford. I want to be the next Minister for Health to transform healthcare and deliver for our hospitals here in Waterford.
I will never accept second best for the people of our county. It is unacceptable that we have to battle for investment with little support from Government. We are still waiting for this Government to fund the Airport.
A Sinn Féin led Government will massively invest in Waterford Port, deliver 24/7 cardiac care, increase capacity in our University, deliver the affordable homes we need and put Waterford first.
Only a vote for Sinn Féin can change this Government. A vote for an Independent is a vote for 5 more years of Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael. Vote for a change of Government.
