FDC and Associates Limited are delighted to announce the merger, with Mark Kennedy & Co Accountants Ltd, that took place on January 2, 2025. 

This merger sees a significant expansion to FDC’s already strong presence in Waterford with three offices in Dungarvan, one office in Lismore and one office in Waterford City. Mark Kennedy and Co Accountants will be joining forces with FDC and Associates Ltd to continue offering excellence across all services.

FDC Group employs more than 550 employees across 49 offices in Ireland. This homegrown Irish business is a trusted advisor for local communities across Ireland, closely connected to the concerns, demands and future of its clients. FDC specialises in the services of Accounting, Tax and Legal, Financial Services, Agri Consultancy, Management Accounting, Advisory, Banking, Audit, Training and Client Business IT Solutions.

Limerick born, Mark Kennedy began his professional career in 1977 as a Trainee Accountant with Olivier Freaney and Company Chartered Accountants, in Tipperary town. Four years later, Mark moved to Oliver Freaney & Company, in Cork City. In 1982, Mark qualified as a Certified Public Accountant and Auditor.

In 1985, Mark Kennedy & Co Accountants Ltd was established in Waterford City, growing exponentially into a successful, well-established accounting practice at 2 St Patrick’s Terrace. The practice is CPA registered and specialises in Accountancy, Auditing, Taxation and business advisory services for small to medium sized enterprises.

Regarding the merger with FDC Group, Mark Kennedy commented: “As a growing practice, we realised we needed to merge to avail of all additional services and resources which a national group like FDC can provide. We look forward to availing of the resources of the financial services, IT, HR and tax departments, all which will be of huge benefit to our clients. My wife Rachel and I will continue working and are delighted to remain.” 

Another core employee to Mark Kennedy & Co Accountants Ltd, Susan Kelly, trained with FDC Accountants in New Ross 25 years ago. Eighteen years ago, Susan joined Mark Kennedy & Co Accountants. With great anticipation for what the future holds, Susan commented: “I am delighted to be returning to FDC and look forward to growing the practice under FDC and Associates Ltd here in Waterford.” 

FDC Regional Manager of FDC and Associates Ltd, Enda Ryan commented on the recent merger saying: “FDC and Associates Ltd are delighted to announce the merger with Mark Kennedy & Co Accountants Ltd on 02/01/2025, an established and well thought of practice in Waterford.
