The South East Mountain Rescue Association successfully rescued an injured walker who was injured on a popular Waterford trail.

In a post on social media, SEMRA said they assisted a walking group in Coumshingaun on Wednesday.

A young person had fallen and banged their head.

But luckily, a team doctor was walking in the area at the time and came across the group.

"Our team doctor assessed the injury and requested assistance from the team to get them down to an ambulance.

"They were quite close to the stile, so they helped them to walk down to it and then put them into the SEMRA vehicle, which then transferred them down to the road to wait for the National Ambulance Service ambulance.

"We wish the young person a speedy recovery. They were so close to the finish after a big day out," wrote SEMRA.
