Young boxer Michael Reilly celebrated for sporting achievements

At last week’s Garda Youth Awards in Waterford, local boxer Michael Reilly received a Special Achievement award.
The award was in recognition of Michael overcoming social challenges and being an inspiration for both adults and young people in the community.
Michael, who boxes out of St. Paul’s Boxing Club, has set up his own home gym which he uses every day to train and he follows a strict nutrition and exercise routine.
His hard work has been paying off, having received a number of prestigious awards including seven All-Ireland boxing titles.
He was a member of the Irish team that boxed in the USA and he represented Ireland at the European Championships in 2024 in Bosnia.
During the presentation, guests were told: “Michael continues to inspire young people to aspire to their dreams and overcome barriers that are put up in their life."
