Woman in court for alleged jewellery theft from Waterford city store 

Waterford Courthouse.

A woman appeared in Waterford District Court charged with theft from Shaws in Waterford city.

It is alleged that on May 24, 2024, Chanel O’Leary (23), of Grange, Broadway, Wexford, stole €127 worth of jewellery from the store.

All items were recovered in a resaleable condition.

She was charged with Section 4 theft and has no previous convictions.

Her defence solicitor told Judge Kevin Staunton that Ms. O’Leary was in Waterford to attend a football match and had consumed alcohol.

Judge Staunton requested the procurement of a probation report.

The matter will be raised again in court on June 16.
