Woman guilty of money-laundering €5,600 through Revolut

The woman laundered the sum through a Revolut account.

A woman has pleaded guilty to committing money-laundering on a date between February 3- 5, 2024.

Nicola Brown, of St John’s Park, Waterford, made her plea at Waterford Circuit Court before Judge Eugene O’Kelly.

The 37-year-old pleaded guilty to a charge of money-laundering contrary to Section 7.1.a and 7.1.b. She laundered €5,600 through a Revolut account.

Defence counsel Gareth Hayden BL requested that a probation report be prepared pending her sentencing, noting that his client has "significant substance abuse problems".

Judge O’Kelly accepted the application and requested that a victim impact statement be obtained. The matter will be sentenced on April 14.
