Further weather warnings have been issued by Met Éireann.

Another weather warning has been issued for Waterford as Met Éireann has issued a status yellow snow-ice warning coming into effect this morning.

The warning comes as further "wintry showers" are expected to touch ground in Waterford and are expected to bring further accumulation of snow.

The national forecaster cautioned that the weather may cause hazardous travelling conditions, poor visibility and travel disruptions. The warning comes into effect at 12pm today, Monday, January 6, and will run until 12pm on Tuesday, January 7.

This is the latest warning as Met Éireann also issued a status yellow caution due to low temperatures and the likely presence of ice in Waterford for much of the week.

The warning cautions that widespread frost, ice and lying snow are likely this week until Friday, January 10, at 10am.

Temperatures this week, the national forecaster has warned, will be "struggling to get above freezing during the day".

The weather is likely to cause hazardous travelling conditions on roads and underfoot as well as disruption to travel.
