Waterford City and County Council’s decision on the application is due on May 6.

An application has been submitted to Waterford City and County Council to change the use of the betting shop on Newport’s Terrace to a café restaurant.

The planning application, submitted by T-Junction Café Restaurant Limited, details the works sought to enable the conversion of the vacant building at 109D Newport's Terrace in Waterford City, beside the Richard Hannigan Hair salon.

Permission is being requested for a new shop front with chalk signage alongside an openside canopy covering in the lot’s existing side yard.

T-Junction Café Restaurant is seeking permission to use the side yard as an outdoor dining space.

Waterford City and County Council’s decision on the application is due on May 6.
