A special thanks has been made to Captain Darren Doyle for his support of the Waterford Dragon Boat Club.
The group say the boats need to be stored from October to April each year, and with Captain Doyle’s help, they were able to do so.
Speaking on behalf of the group at a mayoral reception for the club, Deirdre Cahill said they could not thank the Waterford Port captain enough.
“From October to April each year, storage is needed for our boats. This year, we didn’t have access to any storage.
“With your help, Mr Mayor, we were introduced to Captain Darren Doyle, Waterford Port.
"We are absolutely thrilled when we got word that Darren had secured a container for us and offered us storage at Waterford Port. We can never thank you enough, Darren,” said Ms Cahill.
