St. Martin's Special School.

The Board of Management of St. Martin’s Special School have submitted plans for an extension to the school.

St. Martin’s Special School, at Lower Grange, are planning for the construction of a single-storey extension to the existing school building comprising of four additional classrooms with associated teaching spaces, a toilet and shower/changing area, multi-activity room and office.

Under the plans, the school’s existing external play areas and ball court will be adjusted and relocated, alongside the formation of new soft-play areas, a new sensory garden and new hard and soft landscaping.

16 new carparking spaces are planned, including provision for electric vehicle charging locations and one new disabled car parking space.

A new on-site road crossing on the internal road network is planned, as is an extension to existing on-site drop-off area/ lay-by and extension to the associated drop-off canopy.

A plant room and services compound is also planned alongside the installation of solar photovoltaic panels to a new roof area.

A decision is expected from Waterford City & County County by November 18.
