Waterford’s LGBTQ+ Film Festival, Queer Vision, is set to return next spring.

Pride of the Déise has announced that the festival will take place from February 6 to 7, 2026, at Garter Lane Arts Centre, in partnership with Waterford Film Centre.

The call for entries is officially open, and filmmakers from Ireland and around the world are invited to submit work that celebrates the depth, diversity, and defiance of queer life.

Organiser and founding member of Pride of the Déise, Éadaoin Breathnach, said they were thrilled to spotlight the incredible creativity of LGBTQIA+ filmmakers and continue their commitment to bilingual and Irish-language inclusion on screen.

“Queer Vision is more than a film festival; it's a celebration of queer art, language, and culture,” said Ms Breathnach.

Presented by Pride of the Déise, Queer Vision champions LGBTQIA+ filmmakers and storytelling talent whose voices reflect the many shades of queer experience, from personal journeys and love stories to political resistance and creative expression.

This year’s festival showcases an exciting programme of short films, documentaries, and features, along with planned workshops, panel discussions and community screenings.

This year’s Queer Vision Film Festival will honour excellence across five key categories: Best Overall Production, Best LGBTQIA+ Representation, Best Irish Language Production, Best Irish Production, and the Audience Award, chosen by festival attendees.

Each award celebrates the creativity, authenticity, and artistry of filmmakers who bring queer stories to life.
